Tanner left this morning for Wayne National Forest. He and his buddies will be camping and riding 4-wheelers all weekend while I kick it at home with the boy.
It was a sad departure this morning when Turner woke up crying for Da-Da. Tanner came in and cuddled him and Turner wouldn't let go. Every time I reached out for him, Turner would coil back away from me. He knew Dad was leaving him for awhile and was pretty sad about it. He cried most of the way to daycare, but was fine when we got there.
Distraction is key and I have a fun weekend planned for us. I will be busy, but I enjoy the one-on-one time with our little boy. We'll both be glad to see Tanner when he gets back on Sunday afternoon, but until then we're going to party.
